Grant Redden

Grant Redden

Born and raised in southwest Wyoming, Grant grew up working hard on large sheep and cattle ranches.  Camp horses, pack strings, and work horses were an important part of this life.  This land, its people, its history and heritage, and the animals, became an important part of his art.

Grant received a BS in Economics from Utah State University and worked as a real estate appraiser, but painted at every opportunity.  He is primarily self-taught but gives credit to his mentoring by major master artists who recognized his talent.  He became a full-time artist in 1997.

He has been invited to many major gallery and annual shows and exhibits.  He has also been featured in major art publications.  He became a member of the North West Rendezvous group in 2010.   Being invited to become a Cowboy Artist of America in 2012 was a highlight to him.  And in 2013 won the Gold Medal Award for oil painting and Silver Medal for watercolor.  In 2014, 2016, and 2017 he won the Gold Metal awards.  In 2016 he also won the Stetson Award for the best group of paintings, voted on by the other artists, and in 2017 the Anne Marion Best in Show Award.

He lives in rural southwest Wyoming with his wife and family.

Galleries Include:  Simpson Gallagher, Plainsman, Wilcox, Mockingbird, Woodriver, Wild Horse, and Grapevine
