Jason Rich

As a child, Jason grew up riding, training, and drawing horses on a farm in Southern Idaho.  He studied art at Utah State University. Upon completing his master’s degree, he became a full-time artist. 

For over 20 years Jason has established himself in the western art market in many prestigious shows and galleries, winning awards, accolades and being featured in art publications.  His awards include the Arts for the Parks competition Grand Prize in 1997 and the Founders Favorite Award in 1999. He won the Best New Auction Artist Award at the C.M. Russell Auction in 1998 and was the 2002 National Cattlemen’s Beef Association poster artist.  In 2007 he was the featured cowboy artist at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for its National Day of the American Cowboy event.  At the Autry National Center’s 2008 Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale he was the recipient of the first annual Spirit of the West Award.  He was elected to the Cowboy Artists of America in 2011.  In 2012, he won the TCAA Award and a Silver Medal in Oil Painting, which he won again at 2013 show.  In 2014 he was awarded Western Artist of the Year from the Academy of Western Artists.

Jason and his wife, Kari, three children and three horses, live in Northern Utah.  He still loves horses.
