Bruce Greene

Bruce Greene

Bruce Greene is one of the legitimate heirs to a cowboy art legacy that traces its beginnings back to Charlie Russell.  It is a legacy that is tied hard and fast to a familiarity with and feeling for ranch life reality and is based on a bedrock of artistic accomplishments.  He has enough artistic inspiration from the historical JA Ranch (established by Charles Goodnight) to last a lifetime!  There will come a time when the cowboys of today will look at Bruce Greene’s art and smile at the memory of the way their world once was.

Bruce has been a member of the Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) since 1993.  He has received numerous awards for his work in oil, drawing, and sculpture, including the Ray Swanson awards at the CAA shows in 2012 and 2007.  Bruce is also very well known for his larger-than-life-size sculptures, including works created for Baylor University in Waco and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, the father and son bronze at Arlington Stadium, and the buffalo at Plains Capital Bank.

Bruce is represented by the Claggett/Rey Gallery in Vail, CO and the InSight Gallery in Fredericksburg.  Bruce and his wife, Janie, restored an 1883 farmstead outside Clifton in 1991 where they continue to enjoy the beauty and the people of the Texas Hill Country.  They have three children and nine grandchildren.
