15th Annual High Student Art Show

Sponsored by the BOSQUE ARTS CENTER ART COUNCIL
Art Council’s annual Student Art Show is set to open March 4. Our judge is Martin Grelle. Please be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to admire the talent and creativity of our young artists in Bosque County High Schools and including Hamilton, Hico, and Whitney. The prize monies are generous, with Best in Show receiving $500, first place in each media division $100, second place $75, third place $50, and honorable mentions receiving ribbons.
The opening reception is Sunday, March 4, from 2 to 3 p.m. and is open to the public. The prizewinners will be announced and the students will receive their awards at the reception. The students’ works will be for sale, if they choose, and Mr. Grelle will be on hand to meet and encourage the upcoming artists. The show will hang March 4 through March 17. -DF
PROCEDURES
No entry fee required. Open to all 9TH—12TH grade students attending school in Bosque County as well as students from Hamilton, Hico, and Whitney High Schools.
Media divisions:
1. Watercolor/Tempera
2. Oil/Acrylic
3. Pastel
4. Pencil/Ink/Charcoal (color and graphite)
5. Mixed Media.*
*Definitions: We accept only original art which does NOT include computer generated or photograph-altered pieces. Mixed Media is defined as including one or more of the other categories. For example colored pencil and watercolor or ink and acrylic. Any piece that includes other materials like wood or metal will be considered craft and not acceptable for this competition. No previously submitted pieces accepted.
AWARDS**
Best in Show $500. Each Media Division: First Place $100, Second Place $75, Third Place $50, and Honorable Mention Ribbons.
