Traveling the Back Roads – 35^th Annual Big Event

The BAC will celebrate its 35^th Annual Big Event on April 7-8, 2017.  A weekend of fun kicks off on Friday the 7^th with a concert by Ray Wylie Hubbard and his trio, followed by the annual live auction and dinner on Saturday. 

                Widely known for penning “Up Against the Wall (Redneck Mother),” Hubbard made his name in the Texas outlaw country movement of the ‘70s.  The “songwriter’s songwriter” has gone on to become a respected artist in the Americana music scene with his unique blend of country, blues, and rock.  Touring with Grifter’s Hymnal, Hubbard performed on Late Night with David Letterman in 2012.  In 2014, he played to a standing-room-only crowd at the BAC  in the 2^nd Annual Texas Troubadour Songwriter Classic.  Since then, Hubbard has kept himself busy, releasing the 16^th album of his career in 2015, The Ruffian’s Misfortune, as well as his autobiography, humorously titled a life…well, lived. 

                2016 Texas Troubadour winner John Swantner will open for Hubbard. 

                On Saturday, April 8, the live auction will be filled with one-of-a-kind art, trips, private parties, and lots more.  Original artwork includes pieces by Cowboy Artists of America members, along with many other nationally renowned artists.  Dinner at the airport, a Super Bowl Party for 14 (with the game viewed on a 30-foot HD screen), a wine fridge with related items, place settings of La Cadeaux dinnerware, dinner party with entertainment by Troubadour People’s Choice winner Phillip Wildman, an iPad, an HD flat screen TV, a designer purse…these are just some of the terrific items up for bid this year.  Make your plans now for the 35^th Annual Big Event at the BAC!!
