Newton to Judge 2026 Art Classic
POSTED: Tuesday, March 3, 2026
Enty Deadline: June 1, 2026
The Bosque Arts Center Art Council welcomes acclaimed collector and curator Tim Newton as juror for the 41st Annual Bosque Art Classic in Clifton.
Newton has judged the Oil Painters of America and Buffalo Bill Cody shows, among others, both national and international. He founded the American Masters exhibition at the renowned Salmagundi Club in New York City and recently curated the Briscoe Night of the Artists exhibition.
Another of Mr. Newton’s many distinctions in the art world is being Director and Curator of the newly launched Concho River Legacy Trail in San Angelo, TX, a 40-acre project that will place life-sized sculptures along a path in Santa Fe Park. The vignettes lining the trail will pay tribute to the area’s rich history, “its Native peoples, early settlers, soldiers, ranchers, trail drivers, and the wildlife that sustained them.” The list of notable sculptors who will be represented in the park includes names familiar to those who have taken part in our past art auctions or the Bosque Art Classic: Bruce Greene, John Coleman, Deborah Fellows, Dustin Payne, Jason Scull, T.D. Kelsey, Jeff Gottfried, and Raul Ruiz.
Entry deadline for the Classic is June 1, with the juried work on display September 13-26, after the opening night extravaganza on September 12.
Known for the outstanding representational work it draws from across the country, the Classic awards $15,500 in cash prizes for works in drawing, pastel, oil/acrylic, sculpture, and water media.
Entry fee is $30/online entry and $35 for each entry submitted via CD, flash drive, etc.
The 2026 prospectus is available on the Art Classic page at this link.
