A nationally acclaimed art collector and consultant, Tim Newton is a sought-after juror, curator, and speaker. He founded the American Masters exhibition at the renowned Salmagundi Club in New York City and he recently was named curator of the Briscoe Night of the Artists exhibition in San Antonio, TX. Newton is Director and Curator of the newly launched Concho River Legacy Trail in San Angelo, a 40-acre project that will place life-sized-plus sculptures along a path in Santa Fe Park--vignettes paying tribute to the area’s rich history.
Newton has judged the Oil Painters of America Virtuosos Master and Signature Members Show and the Buffalo Bill Cody Show and Sale, among many others, both national and international. He is Publisher Emeritus of Western Art and Architecture magazine, having stepped into the publisher role in 2019. Newton has guided the Salmagundi Club as Chairman of the Board and CEO. He has served on the Board of Advisors for the Oil Painters of America, in addition to serving on boards of these esteemed foundations: Clark Hulings, Couse, Stobart, and Joe Beeler. The Cowboy Artists of America recently named him an honorary member for his long-time support of the arts.
Tim and his wife, Cathi, are known for the diverse art they have acquired over the decades. Their 350-piece collection has been featured in various magazine articles. The Newtons divide their time between Cody, WY, and San Angelo, TX.
