Leland Hensley Reception - Atrium Gallery

POSTED: Monday, September 11, 2023

Our September artist of the month is native Texan Leland Hensley.  While attending Sul Ross State University in Alpine, he developed a passion for the art of rawhide braiding. Since then Hensley's work has developed an excellent reputation amongst collectors and working cowboys alike.  His unique designs, styles, and rugged practicality provide a functional beauty to his pieces. He is a member of the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association.  Since 2002, Hensley has been the guest curator of gear for the Museum of the Big Bend.  Hensley’s braiding will be on display in the Atrium Gallery, daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A reception on Thursday, September 14, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  The public is invited to attend. Please stop by and see this unique and beautiful display.
