Jukebox Saturday Night Performs Mancini Classics
Remember “Moon River” sung by Andy Williams? What about the music from The Pink Panther movies, and the song “Baby Elephant Walk” from the movie Hatari! with John Wayne, and “Days of Wine and Roses” from the movie of the same name?
What do they have in common? The music of Henry Mancini.
Join us July 8 at 7 p.m. in Frazier Performance Hall to hear Jukebox Saturday Night perform songs written by Mancini for movies, TV shows, and many of the crooners such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Boone, and Perry Como. Winner of four Academy Awards, a Golden Globe award, and Grammy awards, Henry Mancini was celebrated for his many musical scores from more than ninety movies and more than twenty television series. Some of the television shows for which he wrote theme music are Peter Gunn, The Richard Boone Show, Remington Steele and even the NBC Nightly News.
