Tyler Crow
Member, Cowboy Artists of America
Judge for the 36th Annual Bosque Art Classic
Tyler Crow grew up in Apache, Oklahoma, surrounded by the cowboy lifestyle he so authentically portrays today. The youngest artist ever to be inducted into the Cowboy Artists of America, he quickly distinguished himself in CAA shows, capturing Buyer’s Choice and Silver Medal Drawing awards in 2017’s Cowboy Crossings. Crow followed that with more CAA medals in subsequent years, in water solubles and again in drawing. His artwork has graced the covers of magazines—most recently the September 2020 cover of Western Horseman—and has even found its way to the music genre, where his award-winning charcoal of Red Steagall appeared as the cover art for Steagall’s CD, Hats Off to the Cowboy. Since his beginnings as a high school senior winning a scholarship to attend Bruce Greene and Martin Grelle’s workshop, followed by an apprenticeship with Greene, Crow has made lightning strides developing his artistic voice in multiple mediums. He now exhibits alongside the legends of art with his oils, charcoals, and watercolors in such shows as the CAA’s Cowboy Crossings, Insight Gallery’s Texas Masters, and the National Cowboy Museum’s Small Works, Great Wonders. The Art Council is thrilled to have this award-winning Bosque Art Classic alumnus back to judge the 36th annual show.
