Tickets for TBT Comedy on Sale

POSTED: Thursday, April 18, 2019

Reservations for the Tin Building Theatre May production of the Texas comedy Under a Cowboy Moon will go on sale to the public beginning Monday, April 22.  The two-act play, written by Carl Williams and featuring a talented cast of both stage veterans and newcomers, will play for four performances.   Tickets for TBT patron members are now available.

Rehearsals have been underway for six weeks on the production, which is being directed by Carla Sigler.  The show will open with a catered dinner performance on May 11, and close with a second dinner show on May 18.  A Sunday matinee will be presented on May 12 and a regular show on Friday, May 17.

Set in the Saddle Horn Bar in the Spitwhistle, Texas, the plot finds residents desperate to lure visitors to their dying little town by organizing a cowboy poetry contest.  But when a television crew arrives to film a documentary, the prospect of appearing on national TV stirs the pot and swirls the small Texas town into a faceoff between young guns and old-timers to determine just who the best pen in the West is.

Cast members range in age from 16 to 81 and include a bank manager, preacher, real-life poet, teacher, and high school students. Local stage veterans include Kris Chandler, Bob Fuller, Don Boysen, Gehrig Booth, and Sherrod Fielden.  Newcomers making their TBT debuts in the comedy include Richard Haas, Connie Terry, Amy Hymer, Rick Pinner, Kaitlyn Eary, and Amanda Cornelius.

Tickets are $15 for regular performances and $45 for dinner shows.  Tickets may be reserved online on our Tickets page, or by calling (254) 675-2278.
