Texas A&M Singing Cadets

POSTED: Thursday, February 22, 2018

March 25 - 3 p.m.

The Singing Cadets from Texas A&M University bring their 70-voice chorus to Frazier Performance Hall at the BAC, Sunday, March 25, at 3 p.m. This performance at the Arts Center marks the last stop on their 2018 Spring Tour. The Singing Cadets are internationally known as the Voice of Aggieland and directed by Mr. David Kipp.

Their repertoire includes a wide variety of music which includes gospel music, hymns, school songs like the “Aggie War Hymn,” and modern day tunes, although the music of the 1940s, ‘50s, and ‘60s remain favorites.  They typically utilize piano, drums, and guitars for their performances.

Over the past year the Singing Cadets have traveled throughout Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, with a national tour in the northeast U.S.  This past October they sang for the “One American Appeal,” a benefit concert for victims of the hurricanes in August and September.  Sponsored by the George W. Bush (41st) Library, the concert had all five former living Presidents in attendance, as well as Lady Gaga, Alabama, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, along with a host of other performers.

The concert starts at 3:00 p.m.  Tickets are $35 each.  Seating is first-come, first-seated.  Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the BAC. -DP
