About Randy Meador

Born just a stone’s throw from the Waggoner Ranch in Vernon, Texas, and raised on a smaller ranch in Central West Texas, Randy Meador fell in love with the hues of the West and returned to those hues in 2007 as a full-time artist.  Wholly self-taught without any instruction other than his own exhaustive study of works by Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, and Paul Cézanne, Meador left a career in marketing to pursue his artistic passions and has since been rewarded with numerous distinctions.  He garnered the prestigious John Steven Jones Award in the 2016 Bosque Art Classic, along with Gold Medal Oil, for Tight Rein.  He has been named the Texas Watercolorist of the Year, has won Best of Show in multiple international exhibitions, and designed 12-foot stone relief panels for the TCU stadium.

Randy is a frequent watercolor exhibition juror, regularly lectures regarding watercolor technique, and is currently filming for his own syndicated TV show.
