Birchum Collage Workshop

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (with optional 1 hr lunch break)
Join artist Shannon Birchum for a day of fun exploring in the fantastic realm of collage. Learn how to use mixed media to create a one of a kind piece of art.
The purpose of this workshop is to allow attendees to experiment, play and enjoy the creative process while learning about color, pattern, mark making and composition.
The following will be covered

material selection

cutting and tearing preparation

arrangement and composition
-
adhesion
Cost: $65
All basic materials/supplies provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring any of the following to add to their own collage process:

brayer/roller
-
x-acto knife
-
self healing cutting mat
-
specialty scissors-fancy edged edge or just your favorite pair
-
ephemera (assortment of papers)
-
photos/images for ideas & inspiration
-
baby wipes to clean sticky fingers
-
lightweight fabrics
-
colored tissue papers/decorative paper napkins
-
Whatever mixed media supplies you have— watercolor, acrylic, oil pastels, colored pencils, cheap or fancy acrylics, water crayons, felt tip pens, stamps/pads, etc.
Don’t buy, just bring what you happen to have.
