Janie Fricke at Texas Troubadour - UPDATE
POSTED: Friday, October 28, 2022
We are sorry to report T.G. Sheppard has contracted COVID, so he and Kelly Lang will not be able to perform at Saturday’s Texas Troubadour. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he and Kelly will join us at a later date.
Award-winning Janie Fricke has graciously agreed to step in for the night. She will judge the five Troubadour contestants, and after a set by the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Band, Fricke will close the evening with the band.
We hope you’ll join us to cheer on the Troubadours, scoot your boots a little, and enjoy the hits of Janie Fricke. This legendary performer went from singing jingles for Coca-Cola and Red Lobster to recording 18 number one hits, including “It Ain’t Easy Bein’ Easy,” “He’s a Heartache (Looking for a Place to Happen), and “Don’t Worry ‘bout Me, Baby” on her own, plus duets with Johnny Duncan (“Stranger,” “Come a Little Bit Closer”) and Merle Haggard (“A Place to Fall Apart”).
Tickets are still available for $25, $50, $75, and $125. Doors open at 5, with food and beverages for sale. Performances begin at 6 p.m.
Troubadour finalists for the evening: Tobi Lee of Portland, Tennessee; Jay Stott of Lyons, Colorado; Rickey Tate of Burleson; Kris Tiscareno of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Edward Zschiesche of Burleson.
Purchase tickets online or by calling 254-675-3724. They may also be purchased at the door.
The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Band will open for and accompany Janie Fricke at the 2022 Troubadour.
