Book Club - June 29
POSTED: Tuesday, June 7, 2022
The BAC Book Club’s June selection is Forty Autumns by Nina Willner. Written by a former U. S. Army Intelligence Officer, the book is about her East German mother’s escape to the west and the family that was left behind.
For forty years Germany was separated into East and West by the Berlin Wall (the Wall did not come down until 1989). The story follows forty years in the lives of five family members who display courage, resilience, and love of family in the face of traumatic events. The Kirkus Review calls Forty Autumns “…A poignant and engrossing, occasionally harrowing, family memoir.”
We’ll meet at the BAC on June 29 at 10:00 a.m. Please join us!
