Jeff Gottfried Sculpture Workshop

The Art Council is pleased to announce an Intro to Sculpting workshop with award-winning sculptor Jeff Gottfried on July 12-13. Gottfried—whose piece Wishful Thinking is in the BAC permanent collection as winner of a purchase award in the Art Classic—uses his 25 years of sculpting experience and his skills as a professional educator to share his passion for the 3-dimensional form.

In this 2-day workshop, students will sculpt a 1/2-life-sized human bust. Through demonstrations, lectures, and class activities, students will learn basic sculpture techniques: clay manipulation, tools, armature, measuring techniques, and anatomy.  An additional focus will be how to look at and appreciate sculpture in general. Students will learn to identify a sculpture’s expression of idea, what makes a compelling design, and effective sculpture display.

From sculpting techniques to appreciation of form, Jeff will guide students through the basics and unlock the wonderful world of sculpture!

Cost $200 (includes supplies and continental breakfast and lunch both days)
