Song of the Year Winner - Kelly McGuire, "Rich Man"
What a terrific night we had at our 8th Texas Troubadour Songwriter Classic. Marty Haggard was sensational as both performer and judge, entertaining the audience with remarkable renditions of his dad’s music, playfully interacting with the crowd, and giving wonderful advice and encouragement to the singer/songwriter contestants.
Our congratulations go to young Sadie Self of Ovalo, Texas, winner of both the $1,500 Texas Troubadour Award and $500 People’s Choice. Sadie also placed in the top three for Song of the Year with “Deep in My Texas Heart.” Kelly McGuire of League City captured the $1,000 Song of the Year Award with “Rich Man.”
