BAC Quilt Show June 11-12

Come see and celebrate the 7th Annual BAC Quilt Show and Competition on  Friday – Saturday, June 11-12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The photos coming in with the entry forms indicate we’re going to have a beautiful display of styles, patterns and techniques in our quilts this year.  On Thursday, June 10, the BAC will host the Award and Vendor reception beginning at 6:30.  We will announce award winners, introduce our vendors, have some libations, and partake of the appetizers provided by the BAC Quilt Guild.  The public is invited to attend this special gathering. This year our list of awards has grown.  We now total over $1,700 in prize money.  We have our usual Best of Show, SAR, People’s Choice, Judge's Choice and NACQJ awards, along with the newer Best Art Quilt Award.    Two new awards added this year are Top Handwork and the Nancy Pugh Memorial Award.  (Nancy was one of the original members of the BAC Quilt Guild and provided quilting classes here at the BAC.)  The Quilt Guild has donated the prize money for this award. In addition to the quilts on view, we’ll have an assortment of vendor booths, including Hayward Erwin back again to sharpen your scissors and knives, several quilt-specific vendors, and a variety of other non-vendor booths.  We’ve got something for everyone this year.  Admission is $6 per person.  Lunch concessions will be available both Friday and Saturday.  The Raffle Quilt will be awarded on Saturday, with the drawing held at 3:45. -DP
