John Wayne Tribute - May 25
As a "living historian," JR Edmondson brings John Wayne to life in the “Celebration of the Duke” on Saturday, May 25, at 7 p.m. Edmonson combines his dramatic talents with his historical knowledge to portray and pay tribute to one of Hollywood’s most famous and beloved actors, John Wayne. In his career Edmondson has made literally hundreds of presentations on famous Texans such as prominent historical figures Sam Houston and James Bowie. The retired history teacher has authored several books and over fifty magazine articles, most on aspects of Texas history. His book, The Alamo Story--from Early History to Current Conflicts, has been praised by reviewers as the "best" and "most readable" of all historical accounts devoted to the Texas shrine. Edmondson has also appeared in more than a dozen documentary film productions for such venues as the History and Discovery channels.
Reserved tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased on our website. This is a BYOB event and the concession menu of ¼ lb. all-beef hot dogs, chili, frito pies and more will be available for sale prior to the presentation.
