Barrett Sweeps Troubadour Awards

POSTED: Friday, November 3, 2017

Congratulations to Brian Barrett of Meridian, TX, who hit an out-of-the-park home run at the 5th Annual Texas Troubadour Songwriter Classic at the Bosque Arts Center Saturday, October 28.  Barrett walked away with the $1500 Texas Troubadour title and the $500 People’s Choice Award for his live performances, in addition to winning the $1,000 Song of the Year Award for “I’m Not Listening.”  Our thanks to Eddy Raven and Frank Myers for judging the contest and afterwards putting on a terrific show, performing favorites from their extensive catalogue of hits.   The BAC also wishes to thank our sponsors and volunteers who made the evening possible.  Many thanks to Dick and Susan Frazier for sponsoring the live performance awards in this year’s show.  Congratulations to our top ten singer/songwriters, and to Gary Anderson of Walnut Springs and Bill Sibley of Cleburne, selected in the top three by Raven and Myers. Congrats also to Tommy Patterson of Comanche, whose songs “I Don’t Love You That Much” and “This Little Church I Grew Up In” received honors for second and third place in the Song of the Year category.
