Slab construction and altered wheel thrown forms will be emphasized in this two-day, hands-on workshop. A variety of specialized techniques for making unique handles, making spouts with the aid of templates, and darting, will be covered as well as the use of stencils and screen-printed imagery on damp clay slabs.
Each morning and afternoon of the two-day workshop will begin with a demonstration. Students will then work independently on his or her own work with close guidance from the instructor.
Students should bring his or her favorite tools for both hand building and wheel throwing. Photographic film for use in screen-printing will be available to students at a cost of $5 for each 4 1/4' x 11" sheet of Eazy Screen film. Other photographic tools and materials will be available at no additional cost.
This workshop is intended for wheel throwers and hand builders at intermediate to advanced level.
