In the recent judged show [at Possum Kingdom]
Arte de los Brazos, the BCAC participated for the third consecutive year. Award winners
from the BCAC were Sue Bandy['Pasture Study'],Lillian Lemke-Jacoway [Sara Standing],
and Bill Austin ['Willie']. Debra Duke sold her work, 'Papillon'.
The Art Club met for Paint Day - and the tri-annual ACE Award - on the first Tuesday in May. First place was awarded by a majority vote, to Joanne Shultz, with a colorful oil painting of parrots. - The ACE Exhibit [plus an exhibit on the adjacent wall] is available for viewing year round, in the Joan Speiler room. Come see!
The following Tuesday, May 15th, the Executive Board met, and made plans for the schedule of the Art Club for the next 18months. Plans include a major art trip for all members, the end of the fiscal year luncheon, our annual judged Art Show in the BAC, and our Christmas party. Many items on the agenda were voted on, and scheduled, after the Board's discussion.
Several members of the Art Club were pleased to have been accepted into the Annual Wildflower Exhibit, which was on display at the Clifton Museum for the last several weeks. The reception was grand! Artists, make plans to have a painting ready next year to try to enter this wonderful showing.
We have several new members, and invite visitors at all times. Come join us, regardless of your level of expertise, or your medium of choice!
