An exciting time is in store for those who attend this year’s Big Event dinner and auction. This year’s event, “Proud to be an American,” begins with the hospitality hour starting at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 24. This time allows patrons to view the auction items and socialize prior to the seated dinner. The dinner, prepared once more by the popular BestYett Catering of Waco, will be served at 6 p.m. Mary Ellen Boren has graciously donated “Passing By,” a limited edition, signed print by Tom Ryan which will be the single Silent Auction piece. Teal Blake’s original watercolor entitled “Rough String Rider,” will be awarded as a door prize.
The highlight of the evening is always the auction which will once more be “hosted” by BC Bennett in his 28th appearance as Master of Ceremonies. Ever since he was invited by Karen Murphy to join in the Big Event festivities George Hallmark has enlivened the evening with his costume and his humor. This year is no exception.
The Big Event owes its uniqueness to the contributions from the artists who continue generously to support the Bosque Arts Center through their auction donations.
Participating Bosque County artists include George Boutwell, Tony Eubanks, Hugh Gaither, Bobbe Gentry, Betty Graham, Bruce Greene, Martin Grelle, George Hallmark, Mike Irvin, and Pat Sowell.
Some of the new items on the auction lineup this year include: Seafood Paella Dinner offered by BC and Leslie Bennett and Sally and Rick Douglas; High Oaks Campfire Dinner from Steph and Scott Cobb; Santa Fe, New Mexico, package including hotel and restaurant gift certificates contributed by Linda Mills; Flying P Hunting Package sponsored by Gene and Ginger Albrecht; and a Michael Kors diamond watch. More auction items will appear in next month’s newsletter.
After starting off the weekend by attending the Lee Greenwood concert on Friday night, you will want to participate in the fun-filled dinner and auction. All the funds raised by the weekend activities support the programs and operations of the Bosque Arts Center.
Monies from the Big Event insure that the Bosque Arts Center is able to continue to offer outstanding programs.
Please contact the BAC office 254 675 3724, if you did not receive your invitation in the mail.
