BOSQUE COUNTY ART CLUB -- A CLUB FOR ALL REASONS

The first Tuesday of each month, from September through May, is the regular paint day in the Spieler Art Room at the Bosque Arts Center.  During summer months the room is available on that day upon request for members who wish to use it.

Accomplished artists who like to paint with others can enjoy getting together to work.  Newcomers to this area may find the club activities an excellent way to become acquainted and make new friends.  Beginners can expect encouragement from others and can also take advantage of the demos and workshops by members and guest artists.

Aspiring artists in the area will find the Art Club's annual FallFest Show and Sale an excellent opportunity to show their work and get some exposure.  The popular show is held in conjunction with Clifton's FallFest, always the third Saturday in October.  The show is widely advertised in the surrounding area and enjoys a large amount of visitors.  This year the show will be held in the gallery of the Bosque Arts Center and will remain there for two weeks

For people who don't paint but want to support the arts, membership in the club will entitle them to attend special programs that are offered through the year. Examples of these would be visits to other art galleries and tours of local artist's studios, as well as social events such as the Christmas party in December and the Awards luncheon in May.

For more information or to join, call             254 675 3724      .

ACTIVITIES FOR BOSQUE COUNTY ART CLUB

*  Regular meetings will resume in September and run through May.  Meeting day is always the first Tuesday of each month.  The Spieler Art Room is available upon request during the summer months.

*  Executive and planning meetings are scheduled and listed in the club Year Book/Directory with special meetings planned as needed.

*  Four times a year members bring recent paintings to a meeting where those present vote on their favorites.  $25 is awarded to the winner.  It and the remaining pictures that receive the most votes will then be displayed on the panels in the Spieler Art Room for the following three months.

*  Throughout the year there will be various workshops and demos by members and guest artists.  These will be posted and announced as they are confirmed.

*  Our largest event of the year is the Annual Judged Art Show and Sale associated with the FallFest event in Clifton always on the third Saturday in October. On the Saturday of FallFest you can vote on your favorite painting for the "People's Choice Award".  Or, see demos given throughout the day by different artist. The Art Club will have a booth downtown where tickets are sold for a raffle painting, to give directions to the show and to inform the public on the club. Entry forms will be available the first of September.

*  Winter and Spring are good times for us to visit other Art Galleries and local artist's studios.  Some previous trips have been to the Kimball Art Museum in Ft. Worth and the Ramsey Art Gallery in Hamilton.  The visits to George Hallmark's and Mike Irvin's studios have been fun and interesting.  We usually "do lunch" on these excursions.

*  In the Spring  we are planning a juried contest and show at the BAC with the winners going to the Arte de los Brazos Exhibit near 'Possum Kingdom.  Dates and times will be announced.

*  Late May or early June will be our end-of-fiscal-year luncheon for the installation of officers.

*  We invite you to join us and take advantage of some of these special events.

WINNERS FROM 2011 BOSQUE COUNTY ART CLUB SHOW AND SALE

The Bosque County Art Club hosted its 9th annual Art Show and Sale in conjunction with the FallFest event. Frances and Ray Ramsey of the Ramsey Collection Gallery of Hamilton, Texas, judged the art show this year.
A reception was held on the evening of Oct. 14th at the Bosque Arts Center Gallery for the artists, club members, Board of Directors, the Art Council, judges and special guests who have been of help to the club over the years.  A large group was in attendance and all enjoyed viewing the show and comparing comments with each other.  Thanks go out to all who helped make this show a success.  This was the second year for the Art Club to display the complete show in the beautiful Bosque Arts Center Gallery, and it was a fitting way to celebrate 36 continuous years as an art club.
